Due to Coronavirus concerns and for the safety of our employees and the communities we serve, all District Three Governmental Cooperative offices will remain closed to the public through 5-31-2020. During this time all of our in-office services will be available by telephone only unless other arrangements are made.
Friendship Cafés will remain closed until at least 5-31-2020. Site managers will continue to do wellness checks via telephone until the sites reopen.
Home Delivered Meals and Senior Medical Transportation will continue operations with extra precautions, such as wellness check calls, before the driver arrives at the home.
Mountain Lynx Transit has limited the maximum capacity on all transit vehicles to no more than 10 people at a time including the driver. For social distancing, passengers will be asked to not sit beside each other when possible and the seat behind the driver will remain open at all times. From 4-1-2020 through 5-31-2020 bus fares will not be collected to reduce person to person contact. Finally, if you are feeling ill please be responsible and do not ride public transit.
Annual Senior Days for Smyth County, Twin Counties, and Wythe County have been canceled.
The Advisory Council meeting scheduled for May 15th has been canceled.
As of now, the Board of Commissioners will still meet as scheduled on May 21st at 7:00pm.
