JOB SUMMARY: Under the immediate supervision of the Community Services Director the VICAP Counselor/SMP Coordinator is responsible for information and counseling to Medicare beneficiaries and providing assistance with the application process when applying for Low Income Subsidy and the Medicare Savings Program. Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) empowers and assists Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to prevent, detect, and report health care fraud. The VICAP Counselor/SMP Coordinator is also responsible for some clerical functions such as monthly reporting, typing and filing in the Central Office. Click here for a full job description.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The VICAP/SMP Coordinator shall have received an associate’s degree in Human Services or related field or have five years’ experience working with Medicare. Applicants must hold a current driver’s license and have "zero points or + points" driving record. Intermediate computer skill necessary function of the job. Experience working with the elderly and adults with disabilities preferred.

DISTRICT THREE GOVERNMENTAL COOPERATIVE is accepting applications for Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP).

This is a paid employment training program to assist older workers with obtaining new job skills, refresh old skills and gain work experience in hopes of obtaining unsubsidized employment in the near future.  These part-time positions are 20 hours per week and pay is limited to the federal minimum wage ($7.25) per hour.
