Medicare covers a number of services to support you, including outpatient mental health services like a depression screening, individual and group psychotherapy, and family counseling.<br \/>\nCounseling services via telehealth may be available to you. Be sure to check, as some healthcare providers and plans are reducing or waiving the amount you pay for telehealth visits during the COVID-19 pandemic.<br \/>\nAlways take care of your mental health, and call your healthcare provider if stress gets in the way of your daily activities for several days in a row.<br \/>\nVisit Medicare.gov or CDC.gov for more information.<br \/>\nThis message is brought to you by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.<\/p>\n<p>June 4: Nursing Home COVID-19 Data and Inspections Results Available on Nursing Home Compare.<br \/>\no\tCMS posted the first set of underlying coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) nursing home data. On April 19, 2020, CMS announced the requirement that nursing homes to inform residents, their families, and their representatives of COVID-19 cases in their facilities. In addition to this, nursing homes are required to report COVID-19 cases and deaths directly to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and today CMS is making this data available. https:\/\/www.cms.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/nursing-home-covid-19-data-and-inspections-results-available-nursing-home-compare<\/p>\n<p>June 11: Nursing Home Residents\u2019 Right to Retain Economic Incentive Payments<br \/>\no\tCMS is aware of allegations that some nursing homes are seizing residents Stimulus Checks authorized under the CARES Act. CMS states the \u201cpractice is prohibited, and nursing homes that seize these payments from residents could be subject to federal enforcement actions, including potential termination from participation in the Medicare and Medicaid programs.\u201d https:\/\/www.cms.gov\/newsroom\/press-releases\/nursing-home-residents-right-retain-federal-economic-incentive-payments <\/p>\n<p>Social Security Administration:<br \/>\n\u2022\tSocial Security field offices are currently closed. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Social Security Administration will be taking Medicare Part B enrollment applications online for working aged individuals who qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP).<br \/>\nCMS recently added an online enrollment option for Medicare beneficiaries who already have Medicare Part A and are eligible to enroll in Medicare Part B through a Special Enrollment Period (SEP). This online application is available to beneficiaries who are 65 or older and have or had group health plan (GHP) coverage within the last 8 months through their (or their spouse\u2019s) employment. Previously, to use a Part B SEP, enrollees had to mail or fax their application. The new online application adds a third option.
